CERAMICS & SCULPTURE
    Work in pottery provides a good balance to the two-dimensional work of painting and calligraphy. Sr. Kathleen makes pottery with brownstone stoneware clay which fires at cone 5 in her electric kiln. Various glazing techniques bring about beautiful variations in the glazing. She also carves designs into the clay bodies of her pots most of which are formed on the potter’s wheel. Occasionally she uses low fire glazes to decorate with brighter hues. She does some hand building, making sculptural objects as well as clay mandalas.
