Major Christmas Blizzard Hits Monastery

December 26th after prayer and the storm rages on.

Yes, there is a car behind the snow drift!

Can you find the two cars buried in the snow?

A huge drift reaches half way to the second story.

A major 4-day blizzard hit Sacred Heart Monastery and much of the mid-section of the country beginning December 23 through December 26th with the after effects still being felt. Yankton received approximately 18" of snow over the period with strong winds up to 40 mph during the duration of the storm. Everyone stayed in and safe, and several of our loyal employees stayed with us during the storm keeping us warm, well fed and our elders and infirm given loving care.

Drift up to the second story windows in a courtyard.
