S. JODELLE ZIMMERMAN OSB – 25th Jubilee

   S. Jodelle Zimmerman OSB grew up in Westphalia, IA where church-related activities were integral to life.  She came to the monastery in 1982 “because of the prayer life of the Sisters and to be part of community, its ministry and be a witness to the church.”  Her family was a major influence in her call as were other relatives who were in religious life or the priesthood.

   S. Jodelle’s ministry is currently that of pastoral administrator in Morton, MN.  She had previously served in pastoral care at Avera St. Benedict Health Care Center in Parkston.

Of the past 25 years, she says, “so much has been gift from God and from my community.  Jubilee time is when I can draw it together and see the pattern that is developing.  It’s a time of prayer and thanksgiving for God’s goodness.”

S. KATHLEEN HICKENBOTHAM OSB – 50th Jubilee

   S. Kathleen Hickenbotham OSB is a LaCrescent, Minnesota native.  After high school graduation in Sioux Falls, she felt called to religious life and entered the monastery in 1957.

She is a full-time artist doing calligraphy, painting, and pottery.  She is also active in Reach to Recovery for cancer survivors and the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. She is currently the coordinator of the Yahweh-Shalom Prayer Group in Yankton.

Reflecting on the past 50 years, S. Kathleen says, “From the day I knew God was calling me to this monastery and way of life, until my Golden Jubilee, I have lived in a community of great and wonderful women dedicated to loving God and God’s people.  It is a community of wisdom, goodness, love, energy and generosity.  The primacy of liturgical and personal prayer has been our source of spiritual life and strength and a source of gratitude to me.”

SISTER PAULETTE LARSEN OSB – 50th Jubilee

   S. Paulette Larsen OSB grew up in Platte Center, NE and attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School there and then Platte Center High School.  Following high school graduation she worked in Omaha to earn money for nurse’s training at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.  Here she became acquainted with the Benedictine Sisters who taught her, and she admired their dedication and commitment.  A retreat led her to seek admission to Sacred Heart Monastery in 1957.

She has ministered as a registered nurse in South Dakota, Nebraska and Colorado, and also does massage therapy with the sisters. She is a current board member for Avera St. Michael’s Hospital in Tyndall.

Of the past 50 years, S. Paulette says, “My vocation has given me many opportunities to minister to a variety of God’s people as I strive to live the Beatitudes and bring peace to the world.”

SISTER ROSINA ANN SCHOCK OSB – 50th Jubilee

   S. Rosina Ann Schock OSB is a native of rural NE Nebraska.  She attended country school and then St. Joseph School in Constance which was staffed by the Yankton Benedictines.  Her teachers were influential in her discerning her call to religious life. She entered Sacred Heart Monastery in 1955 and after graduating from Mount Marty High School, she became a novice in 1958.

Her ministry has been in elementary education and administration in South Dakota, Nebraska and Colorado, andthen in pastoral care in Tyndall, SD and most recently to the residents of the Monastery Care Center.
