S. Margo Tschetter OSB, a long-time 5th grade teacher at Sacred Heart School in Yankton, received the South Dakota DARE Officers' Association Educator of the Year Award on November 23.  She was nominated for the award by DARE Officer Greg Shoberg of the Yankton Police Department.

    In an article in the Yankton Press & Dakotan, Shoberg said, "She (S. Margo) is an ideal candidate for the award because she invorporates lessons from DARE into her classroom routine."

     In the same article, S. Margo said, "We have all kinds of opportunities every day to say no to things we should not be doing, so I try to reinforce what (Shoberg) has taught throughout the day and throughout the week after he's taught a lesson.  They get the message that it's not always easy to say no to things that seem appealing."
