SOS Service Trip

   The Benedictine Sisters of Sacred Heart Monastery in Yankton, South Dakota invite single women who are 18 or older to be seekers of service.

In the Rule of Saint Benedict it says, "Your way of acting should be different from the world's way' the love of Christ must come before all else" (RB 4:20-21).  It is this compelling counsel that forms the basis for this service opportunity.

Four Benedictine Sisters will accompany eight lay women to Omaha, NE, from May 15-25, 2003.  Various service projects will be accomplished with the people in the inner city.

The days will involve manual labor on service projects and the evenings will include praying, sharing, and journaling.  The main focus of the experience will be to build community.  Participants will be exposed to Benedictine spirituality and values.
